Frameworks we apply

The framework

What it is, and why it matters.

The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) validates corporate emission reduction targets aligned with what climate science requires. An SBTi target shows that the company has a quantified, verified plan to contribute to the Paris Agreement.

The framework sets sector decarbonization pathways. For near-term (2030), it requires a reduction of at least 4.2% per year in scopes 1 and 2. For net-zero (2050), it requires covering 90% of total emissions and neutralizing residual emissions with permanent removals.

SBTi validation is recognized by investors, CDP (extra points in the questionnaire), ESG indices and regulators. In Brazil, more than 100 companies already have targets approved or in progress.

At scale

When the standard updates, the calculation engine is already up to date.

Aplicabilidade

Who it applies to.

  • Companies that have made public net-zero commitments and need a plan validated by an independent third party.
  • Organizations that want to improve their CDP score (SBTi earns extra points in the Climate Change questionnaire).
  • Companies under pressure from investors, customers or regulators to show quantified climate ambition.
  • Companies in hard-to-abate sectors (cement, steel, aviation) that need sector-specific methods.

How we deliver

From source to auditor.

01 · etapa

We start from the complete GHG inventory (Mangue platform) and model reduction scenarios using the SBTi methods that apply to the industry.

02 · etapa

We set near-term and long-term targets, with a roadmap of actions (efficiency, electrification, renewable energy purchase, supplier engagement on Scope 3).

03 · etapa

We support the submission and validation process with the SBTi, including responses to the validator's questions.
