Frameworks we apply

The framework

What it is, and why it matters.

The SASB Standards (now maintained by the IFRS Foundation) define sustainability metrics specific to each industry. There are 77 standards covering 11 sectors, each one identifying the ESG topics that matter most financially in that industry.

The approach is investor-grade: it focuses on information that affects company value, cash flow and cost of capital. Unlike GRI (multi-stakeholder), SASB is aimed at investors and analysts.

With the consolidation under the IFRS Foundation, the SASB Standards serve as the industry metrics reference for IFRS S2, creating a natural bridge between sustainability reporting and financial reporting.

At scale

When the standard updates, the calculation engine is already up to date.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions.

What is the difference between SASB and GRI?

SASB, the industry-specific sustainability metrics maintained by the IFRS Foundation, focuses on what affects company value, cash flow and cost of capital: it speaks to investors and analysts. GRI is multi-stakeholder, aimed at all interested parties. They complement each other.

Do I need SASB if I already report under GRI?

It does not replace GRI, it complements it. GRI covers all stakeholders; SASB, the industry standards maintained by the IFRS Foundation, provides the financial materiality view that investors and analysts ask for. On request, Mangue Tech cross-maps SASB, GRI and IFRS S2, the standard that links sustainability reporting to financial reporting.

Is SASB mandatory in Brazil?

No. CVM Resolution 244, of May 2026, revoked the requirement that CVM 193/2023 had created: reporting is now voluntary, under a comply-or-explain model, and companies that do not publish must explain why. Even so, companies that go through due diligence by international investors use SASB, the industry metrics standards, as a reference.

Which SASB standard applies to my company?

SASB has 77 standards covering 11 sectors, and each company falls under the one for its industry. Mangue Tech identifies the applicable standard, maps that industry's material topics and metrics and builds the list of what needs to be collected.

What is not included in the SASB work?

Mangue Tech prepares and structures the SASB disclosure; it does not issue a certificate or an opinion: verification is done by an external body such as Bureau Veritas, SGS, DNV or TÜV. SASB also does not replace the GHG Inventory or GRI, the route for reporting aimed at all stakeholders.

Every framework deserves its own auditable trail.
